دخلت قضية وفاة أسطورة كرة القدم الأرجنتينية “دييجو أرماندو مارادونا” منعطفها الأخير، حيث بدأت هيئة المحكمة في الاستماع إلى المرافعات الختامية، وسط مطالبات من دفاع المتهمين ببراءتهم الكاملة من تهمة الإهمال الطبي الذي أدى إلى وفاته في نوفمبر عام 2020 عن عمر ناهز 60 عاما.

وتركزت الجلسات الأخيرة على الدفاع عن كل من الطبيبة النفسية “أجوستينا كوساشوف” وعالم النفس “كارلوس دياز”، حيث نفى محامو الأخير أي مسؤولية لموكلهم عن وفاة النجم الأرجنتيني، وأوضح فريق الدفاع عن دياز أن موكلهم انضم إلى الفريق الطبي المرافق لمارادونا في الشهر الأخير فقط من حياته، وكانت مهمته الأساسية مساعدته على التخلص من إدمان الكحول والعقاقير، مؤكدين أن التحاليل الطبية التي أجريت بعد الوفاة أثبتت خلو دم مارادونا من أي آثار للكحول أو المخدرات، وبالتالي فإنه لم يكن يملك أي قدرة على منع ما حدث.

ويذكر أن النيابة العامة طالبت بسجن دياز لمدة خمس سنوات، بينما طالب أحد المحامين الممثلين لأبناء مارادونا بإنزال عقوبة تصل إلى 12 عاما بحقه، ومن جانبها تمسكت هيئة الدفاع عن الطبيبة النفسية أغوستينا كوساشوف بموقفها المطالب بالبراءة، مشددة على أن موكلتها التزمت بدورها المحدد في متابعة الحالة النفسية والعلاج الدوائي، لكنها لم تتلق المعلومات الطبية الكاملة حول تدهور حالته الصحية.

ووجه محامي كوساشوف انتقادات حادة إلى شركة سويس ميديكال التي كانت مسؤولة عن تنسيق الرعاية الطبية المنزلية لمارادونا خلال فترة النقاهة، معتبرا أن ضعف التواصل وعدم تبادل المعلومات حرم موكلته من الاطلاع على تطورات صحية خطيرة كان من الممكن أن تغير مسار العلاج.

ويواجه الفريق الطبي المتهم تهمة الإهمال الجسيم الذي تسبب في وفاة مارادونا إثر تعرضه لأزمة قلبية تنفسية مصحوبة بوذمة رئوية، وذلك أثناء فترة تعافيه في المنزل بعد خضوعه لجراحة في المخ. ومن المنتظر أن تتواصل مرافعات الدفاع خلال الأيام المقبلة، على أن تحدد المحكمة موعدا لاحقا للنطق بالحكم النهائي في القضية التي شغلت الرأي العام العالمي.

The case of the death of Argentine football legend “Diego Armando Maradona” has entered its final turn, as the jury began to hear the closing arguments, amid claims from the defense of the defendants of their complete innocence from the charge of medical negligence that led to his death in November 2020 at the age of 60.

The last sessions focused on the defense of both the psychiatrist “Agustina kosashov” and the psychologist “Carlos Diaz”, where the latter’s lawyers denied any responsibility to their client for the death of the Argentine star, and Diaz’s defense team explained that their client joined the medical team accompanying Maradona in the last month of his life, and his main task was to help him get rid of alcohol and drug addiction, stressing that the medical happened.

It is reported that the public prosecution demanded Diaz’s imprisonment for five years, while one of the lawyers representing Maradona’s sons demanded a sentence of up to 12 years against him, and for its part, the defense team of psychiatrist Agustina Kosachev stuck to her position demanding innocence, stressing that her client adhered to her specific role in the follow-up of the psychological state and drug treatment, but did not receive full medical information about the deterioration of his health.

Kosachev’s lawyer sharply criticized the Swiss Medical Company, which was responsible for coordinating Maradona’s home medical care during the recovery period, considering that poor communication and lack of information exchange deprived his client of being informed about serious health developments that could have changed the course of treatment.

The accused medical team faces a charge of gross negligence that caused Maradona’s death after suffering a cardiorespiratory attack accompanied by pulmonary edema, during his recovery at home after undergoing brain surgery. The defense arguments are expected to continue in the coming days, with the court setting a later date for the final verdict in the case that has preoccupied world public opinion.
