فتحت إدارة مانشستر يونايتد الباب أمام سيناريو غير متوقع داخل مسرح الأحلام، بعدما بدأت التفكير بجدية في بيع النجم البرتغالي وقائد الفريق “برونو فيرنانديز” خلال الميركاتو الصيفي المقبل، في أعقاب تصاعد التوتر بينه وبين المدير الفني “مايكل كاريك”.

وجاء هذا التحول الكبير في مستقبل صانع الألعاب المخضرم نتيجة خلافات فنية حادة طفت على السطح مؤخرًا، وتحديدًا بعد السقوط المدوي للشياطين الحمر أمام فريق كومو الإيطالي بنتيجة أربعة أهداف مقابل هدف، وهي الخسارة التي عمقت جراح الفريق وجعلته يعاني من سلسلة سلبية وصلت إلى سبع مباريات متتالية دون تذوق طعم الانتصار، قبل أن تتضاعف المعاناة بهزيمة جديدة على ملعبه أمام بورنموث.

ولم تمر تصريحات فيرنانديز عقب موقعة كومو مرور الكرام، حيث وجه انتقادات علنية لأسلوب اللعب واختيارات الجهاز الفني، معتبرًا أن غياب الضغط العالي وترك مساحات شاسعة في الخطوط الخلفية كانت قرارات تخص المدربين وحدهم. هذا الحديث أثار ردود فعل واسعة في الأوساط الرياضية، ووصل الأمر ببعض المحللين والنجوم السابقين، وفي مقدمتهم فرانك لوبوف، إلى وصف موقف اللاعب البرتغالي بأنه خيانة صريحة لمدربه في توقيت حرج للغاية.

ورد كاريك لم يتأخر كثيرًا على تمرد قائده، إذ قرر معاقبته فنيًا باستبعاده تمامًا من التشكيل الأساسي في مواجهة بورنموث وتركه حبيسًا لدكة البدلاء طوال الدقائق التسعين. ومع زيادة حدة الاحتقان، أثار فيرنانديز الجدل من جديد عبر حسابه على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، بعدما وضع إعجابًا على منشور يحمل رسالة تحذيرية مفادها: “لا تدفع شخصًا مخلصًا إلى النقطة التي يتوقف فيها عن الاهتمام”.

هذا الصدام المباشر دفع مسؤولي أولد ترافورد إلى التخطيط للتخلص من عقد اللاعب وتسويقه بنهاية الموسم الجاري، رغبة في الاستفادة ماديًا وتفادي تراجع قيمته في السوق مع اقتراب نهاية عقده، وصرف النظر تمامًا عن فكرة تجديد الارتباط معه لفترة أطول.

وتحدث “ستيفان بورسون” المستشار المالي السابق لنادي مانشستر سيتي، عن التبعات الاقتصادية الصعبة التي ستترتب على رحيل قائد اليونايتد، موضحًا: “فيرنانديز سيبلغ عامه الـ33 قريبًا، ومهما حدث، فإن حقبته كلاعب أساسي ومهيمن تقترب من نهايتها، وسيتعين على مانشستر يونايتد إيجاد بديل له، ومن غير المرجح تمامًا أن ينجح النادي في التعاقد مع لاعب يمتلك نفس الجودة بمبلغ يقل عن 100 مليون جنيه إسترليني في سوق الانتقالات الحالي، فالأمر دائمًا يعود إلى الأموال والاستثمارات المطلوبة”.

Fernandes’ statements after the Como match did not go unnoticed, as he publicly criticized the playing style and the coaching staff’s choices, considering that the lack of high pressing and leaving vast spaces in the backlines were decisions that belonged solely to the coaches. This talk sparked widespread reactions in the sports community, with some analysts and former stars, including Frank Leboeuf, going so far as to describe the Portuguese player’s stance as a blatant betrayal of his coach at a very critical time.

Carrick did not take long to respond to his captain’s rebellion, as he decided to punish him technically by completely excluding him from the starting lineup in the match against Bournemouth and leaving him confined to the bench for the entire ninety minutes. With the increasing tension, Fernandes stirred controversy again through his social media account, after liking a post that carried a warning message: “Don’t push a loyal person to the point where they stop caring.”

This direct clash prompted Old Trafford officials to plan for getting rid of the player’s contract and marketing him by the end of the current season, with the desire to benefit financially and avoid a decline in his market value as the end of his contract approaches, completely dismissing the idea of renewing the association with him for a longer period.

Stefan Burson, the former financial advisor to Manchester City, spoke about the difficult economic repercussions that will follow the departure of the United captain, explaining: “Fernandes will soon turn 33, and no matter what happens, his era as a key and dominant player is nearing its end. Manchester United will have to find a replacement for him, and it is highly unlikely that the club will succeed in signing a player of the same quality for less than £100 million in the current transfer market. It always comes down to the money and the required investments.”
