The Qatari club Al Shamal blew up a resounding surprise in the elite Asian Champions League, after it overthrew its rival Saudi crescent by a score of three goals to a goal, at the mass summit that brought together the two teams on Tuesday evening at the Al Bayt al Mundial Stadium, to calculate the third round of the league stage of the continental championship.

The hosts entered the confrontation with a lightning offensive pressure that did not give the guests a chance to arrange their ranks, and the North translated this control early in the eighth minute through a rocket shot by striker Wesley said, taking advantage of an elaborate pass placed by the feet of Mohammed Ali bin Ramadan deep in the Saudi defense. Over time, Al Hilal tried to absorb the enthusiasm of the fans and return to the meeting, which was already succeeded by team captain Salem Al Dossari in the 32nd minute, after he followed up a typical cross from Frenchman Theo Hernandez and settled the net announcing the adjustment of the cuff.

The last minutes of the first half almost witnessed a second goal for the Qataris, when the left-back countered a header from the Algerian star Riyad Mahrez after following a rebound from the goalkeeper, to end the first half with a positive draw that ignited the enthusiasm of the stands.

In the second half, it carried an offensive deluge for the north amid an unexpected defensive retreat for Al Hilal, as the Qatari team needed only three minutes to return to the lead with a second goal scored by top scorer Baghdad bonjeh in the 48th minute, following a minute cross from Riyad Mahrez. Mahrez continued to glow with the third goal in the 54th minute almost by the same chance, to find Tunisian Mohamed Ali ben Ramadan, who fired a shot that settled in the right corner of the Crescent keeper.

Thanks to this well-deserved victory, Al Shamal succeeded in shuffling the cards of the group and igniting the competition for the top positions, while Al Hilal entered the complex calculations circle after freezing its balance following its sudden stumble in the Qatari capital, where Al Hilal remained in fifth place with 6 points, while the Qatari North comes in sixth place with 5 points.
